SneakerFreaker Issue #47
The collector features in Issue #47 offer wildly different perspectives.
In Berlin, Julia Schoierer has assembled an impressive vault of vintage Nikes and 80s adidas hoops classics. Her analytical deconstruction of the real-life Tetris game in her apartment is an honest counterpoint to the image of ‘perfection’ often portrayed online. On the other side of the world, Malcolm Hargrove is a man on a mission, snatching up every unconsummated catalogue gem he fiended over as a youngster in Mississippi.
With a predilection for hitherto unloved DC, éS, iPath and Circa sneaks, his 400-strong fleet of millennium-era relics is suddenly back in vogue. We’ll also take you on a fast-paced trip through the HAL Studios x ASICS colab, a complete New Balance 550 history lesson, hand-made shoes by Goods and Services, Zhijun Wang’s sneaker masks, custom sneakers by North Carolina’s Color Me Fresh and 3-D bubble kicks.
Even more importantly, Issue 47 is where we finally introduce our triple-header colab with atmos. It’s been a looooong minute since the last Sneaker Freaker shoe hit the streets, so the ‘Alley Cats’ is a timely treat.
There’s loads more of course, but you’ll just have to buy a copy to find out what!
